The Level 2 certificate in understanding autism is a nationally recognised qualification designed for all those working in adult social care settings to develop the knowledge and skills needed to deliver high quality safe and effective care and support to individuals.

This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop an understanding of autism and how to support autistic individuals. It offers breadth and depth of key core knowledge and opportunities to gain the skills and expertise expected in health and social care sector.

This qualification will also help learners to progress within employment in a variety of sectors and in a number of job roles where an understanding of autism and knowledge of how to support autistic individuals is required.

Who is the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism for?

Care employers: Organisations seeking to upskill their workforce.
Current Care or Support Workers: looking to gain a nationally accredited qualification.
Those new to care: all those who are aspiring to work in the care sector in education, leisure, early years and voluntary organisations.

What you'll study (mandatory units)

Unit 2 Using a person-centred approach to support autistic individuals
Unit 3 Communication and social interaction in autistic individuals
Unit 4 Sensory processing, perception and cognition in autistic individuals
Unit 5 Supporting positive behaviour in autistic individuals
Unit 6 Supporting autistic individuals to live healthy and fulfilled lives
